My fancy was in Gaza and I was in London. And after months and months of planning, we said like we have to take a vacation go somewhere.

Ahmed Alna Yuk is from Gaza but he moved to the UK to study.

He'd built a busy and successful life abroad,

but his heart was in Gaza where his family remained. His parents, his many siblings,

their children, and his fiancee Yumna.

Last year after months of being apart the couple decided to go on a trip to Turkey with

Yumna's parents. Yumna had never left Gaza before, so it took her a while to get her

passport and her visa sorted.

And then finally, after months of a planning, we managed to go to Turkey on the 5th of October which was her

birthday. To celebrate they went out for dinner in the city. Yeah we went to an

ice a place in Istanbul we were in Turkey and it was I remember I forgot the name with it was

full of flowers and pink and I I planned for this birthday because it is the first

birthday that we are together.
