There's a great deal of emotions surrounding the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Honestly, when you read the Christmas accounts and you read about the coming of the Lord Jesus,

so much emotion, even when we talk about it today, there's love, there's

joy, there's peace. Let me tell you one emotion that is not supposed to be present. One emotion that

God says, I don't want this. Let's get rid of this is fear. As a matter of fact, he repeatedly says

in this story of the coming of Christ that we're not to fear.

Did you know that fear not or be not afraid is found 103 times in our English Bible?

103 times God says, don't you be afraid. Fear is spoken of more than 500 times in Scripture.

Some of those occasions were told to fear God, but that's just another way of saying,

don't fear anything or anyone else.

Because when you fear the Lord, you have no reason to fear anything else.

The fear of God, and I mean by that awe of God,

amazement of who God is, conquers every other fear. All your anxiety, all your care, bring to the

mercy seat, leave it there. Never a problem he cannot bear, never a friend like Jesus. These two

little words, fear not, are really at the heart of the Christmas story. They're the heart of the

Christian message that when the Lord Jesus Christ They're the heart of the Christian message.
