Hifica Ponia Pohamba, the outgoing president of Namibia, is leaving office with $5 million.

He got that $5 million for leaving office. The Moe Ibrahim Foundation gives the prize

to a former head of state who has been democratically elected and serves only the constitutionally mandated term.

Oh, and by the way, it's $5 million over 10 years, then $200,000 for life.

Perhaps some of the Hifica Ponia Pohamba money was contributed by nervous

western newsreaders, delighted not to have to try to pronounce Hifica Ponia Pohamba.

But I pronounce the award genius. If only we could apply the award to other walks of life.
