All right, it's Saturday, June 28th.

We're watching Capitol Hill right now, and this Senate will be in session shortly as

Republicans scramble to pass the bill to fund President Trump's agenda aiming to start

voting today.

Now, the version they, in theory,

will be voting on today, was released overnight. It's 940 pages long. The Senate Minority Leader

Chuck Schumer is giving it a read. He put out the statement on X this morning saying, quote,

at the behest of big oil in the dead of the night, Senate Republicans released a new version of

their big, beautiful betrayal

that retroactively raises taxes on energy. Republicans want to jack up your electric bills and jeopardize

hundreds of thousands of jobs, all so that they can give billionaires tax breaks. Senate Republicans

will meet for a closed-door policy lunch at 1 p.m. Eastern today, and the full Senate

will reconvene at 2 p.m. They plan to be in session for the rest of the weekend with the goal of

ultimately getting the bill on Trump's desk by July 4th. NBC News has learned that Democrats are

considering forcing the clerk to read the entire 940-page bill out loud on the floor of the Senate.

It's a move that would delay the vote,

but there are other roadblocks as well. While some Republicans might think this bill is

big and beautiful, many consider it bad and bloated and just plain ugly. The top priority of the

One Big Beautiful Bill Act is to make Donald Trump's 2017 tax cuts permanent. It also sets aside millions,

hundreds of, sorry, hundreds of billions of dollars

for this administration's immigration enforcement efforts.
