One of the fascinating things in our study of the book of the end times, Esther Nehemiah, Ezra.

I told you in the last lesson, there's three books in the Old Testament that talk about the history of what happens when the Jews return to the land.

And when they came back in 1948, boom, history repeats itself in cycles over and over again.

Right on down to the reign of Cyrus's and wars with Persia and Hamans trying to annihilate the Jews.

And where are you right now? You're dealing with that. I listen to Jonathan Kahn saying that the current Khomeini is part of the Aguagite kingdom,

which is connected to Haman of old, literally.

Woo!

That's so interesting.

But I'm thinking about something I don't want to miss as we're kind of wrapping up our journey through Esther.

And I did jump around a little bit because I think you know the story.

We've covered it enough times where she rises up out of nowhere providentially.

But God puts her in a position of power for what's coming.

And then a curious other thing that happens is Mordecai. By the way,

did you know this? That Mordecai's name probably wasn't Mordecai as a Jew. His name is almost like

they did in Persia with Daniel and Shadrach, Meshach and and Abednego, that wasn't their, you know, Hebrew names.

This was, they called them after their own gods, right?

And so what's curious about this is that Mordecai's name was probably coming after Mordaq,

who would be the name of the ultimate deity over Babylon.

Kind of a strange thing.

I wonder what someone like Michael Heisler and different scholars would say, because he was

named after the Babylonian deities.

And even Esther is not a Hebrew word.
