We begin this episode by descending to Earth slowly from the night sky over Brighton

spiraling slowly down onto the mullet hairstyled head of one Nick Nixon

Amateur Detective on stakeout duty outside Number 13

Wellington Street. He's waiting for the new resident of Flat 3 to come home

from wherever he's gone. You remember? Mick had the unwise idea of

calling around with a clipboard and some questions in the hope of meeting the new resident.

Well, what he doesn't know is that that resident, Adam, has gone off on a pot-buying mission for for Gaz and won't be back until who knows when.

It's been a long and fruitless evening for Meg, and this on top of his non-date with Sally. It's been a bummer all round.

Still, I think Sally's probably had the worst of it, being plied with alcohol and

butchine-filted smoke from Gazis-Bong.

You know, listeners, it's at times like this that I'm glad I'm a pipe and slippers by the electric fireside guy.

Like many a classical gumshoo on stake-out duty, Mick had accumulated a small number of cigarette butts at his feet.

Into this number he dropped what he absolutely considered to be the last one. Fuck this.

He ground out the cigarette with his shoe.
