Our friends here arrived in 1991 on the ship, Pilgrim One, hoping to leave behind the war-torn planet

heirs for a life of peace, a new beginning. But as we stand here in the heat of its two sons, watching its

residence queue up for their daily ration of water, we can see that this wasn't a new beginning

at all, and in fact, for many of the settlers here, it was their end.

Thankfully, the people in this extraordinary situation have an extraordinary man as their leader.

But as our distinguished host is about to tell us, soon their prayers will be answered by a ship. But in the original script, Rod Serling's opening narration was a little different and a little longer.

And it went, this is a village without a name, on a planet that needs no name.

50 years earlier, at the end of the 20th century, a spaceship called the Pioneer 1, landed

a hundred people on its barren, lonely landscape.
