Summary

Looking back at old photos is a quick way to feel ALL the feels: everything from “I can’t believe they were ever that little” to “What was I thinking with that haircut?” to “Oh riiiiiiiight, that was one exhausting season of life.” Looking back is also a great reminder of the value in documenting everyday life – whether we share it publicly or keep it tucked away for our future selves. In this episode, Meagan and Sarah take a stroll down motherhood memory lane as we look back at one day (May 24) in our motherhood lives over several years. Spoiler Alert—our kids are cute, we’ve had many life changes over the past ten years and Meagan will forever be paranoid about applying sunscreen (sorry Owen!). Enjoy!

little to grown. We're in different areas of the country and in different stages

0:09.0

of life, but we both know that motherhood's a lot easier when real moms share

0:12.7

tips and encouragement. And remind you that it's really all gonna be okay. We're

0:16.6

not experts. We're parents who've been there. We're not perfect. We're real.

So we have a really fun episode planned for you all today. We're doing

0:36.0

something that we've done once before, but it was way back in the before times

0:40.5

of 2018. And it centers around, I think this very fascinating idea of trying to

0:48.4

capture what a regular day in motherhood life looks like for us, for each of us

0:54.3

individually, and also kind of what happens when we look back through history at

0:59.6

like what our life was like. We talk about this all the time on the show, Megan,

1:02.6

how of course we have memories of when our kids were little. We talk about

1:06.2

different phases, but sometimes it takes a photo or like a muscle memory. We

1:10.3

recently talked about those to really put yourself back of like, oh my gosh,

1:15.0

I like, I feel it all. I see it. I feel it. I have the sensory memories, the muscle

1:19.6

memories, and photos are a really fun way to do that. So that's what we're doing

1:24.3

today. We picked a day in history. We arbitrarily kind of picked today, which

1:28.5

is May 24th that you're hearing this. We gave ourselves permission to go a

1:31.9

little on either side of that. We couldn't find any good photos, but we're just

1:35.9

going to talk through various May 24th issues throughout our motherhood
