For the final episode of season 1 of Aubrey Marcus Podcast Books I am reading a poem called “The Return” from the book Devotions by Mary Oliver. The poem focuses on a lesser known, but equally important aspect of the story of Theseus and the Minotaur. It doesn’t highlight the heroes battle that has been written about for millenia, but instead Mary Oliver chooses the heroes return out of the maze. In a few simple words Mary Oliver delivers fundamental human truths and this really highlights what makes poetry such a unique medium. Be on the look out for my next short form podcast series Aubrey Marcus Podcasts Poems.
