I'm of course grateful to Pastor Skip for giving me this opportunity to step into expound with you tonight.

And we're going to be digging deep.

He gave me one, one objective

before he left. He said, Caden, it's Wednesday night. So you need to go deep. And I was like,

got it. I'm in it, Pastor Skip. So tonight, I want you to open your Bibles to the book of Jonah. That's

where we're going to be tonight. We're going to make it through the whole book.

I'm going to do my best to make it through the whole book with you tonight.

It's going to be exciting.

I'm going to be preaching out of the NIV tonight.

So if you've got that translation, you can follow right along with me.

But my wife, Annie, is a Florida-born native, born and raised,

just a couple hours north of Miami right on the Atlantic coast. About as close to paradise as you can

get. And about as different from Albuquerque, New Mexico as you can get as well.

It's harder to get into a more different environment than right in Florida, right on the beach,

five minutes away. She grew up there. That was her whole life. And as we started dating,

we dated long distance, which if you didn't have FaceTime during your era of

dating, I'm sorry, you really missed out. But we got to date long distance and I wouldn't

recommend it, but FaceTime was a tremendous help. As we would FaceTime, I would try to prepare her

for what I knew would be culture shock. Inevitably, when she moved to Albuquerque, I knew that she would experience culture shock

because things are different out here in the Wild West, amen.

We do things a little bit differently here in Albuquerque.

And so I tried to prepare her for that.
