This is a special podcast today, as I haven't written a script for it.

No, don't worry, I'm not going to do this off the top of my

head or off my cuff. It's a speech that I want to read to you by Nikita Krustroff. And I found an edited version of the speech

was delivered by Nikita Krustroff to the 20th Congress,

the Communist Party of the USSR,

and Moscow on February 25th, 1956.

So why this speech?

Well, against what it says in the title that it's a secret speech, it was very well known to the

general world after the speech was given within months, it was spread, there were copies of it even though there was no

stenographer there but Khrushchev had it leaked to some of the

common turn and other Communist members in the Eastern

Block first and then it kind of got out to the rest of the world. And it's a very

important speech because we now have to break from Stalin.

The people were inured with his power, the fear that was there, and and had to be broken.

They had to stop the fear that was going through people.

They had to get away from the cult of personality of Stalin
