Summary
Luke Moore and Andy Brassell are back with a brand new episode of On The Continent and, my word, it’s all kicked off at the Camp Nou.
Club President Josep Maria Bartomeu is fighting for his job as former VP Emili Rousaud filed a lawsuit against the Catalan club, claiming “corruption is evident.” We discuss the fallout from Rousaud’s lawsuit, address the power struggle involving Lionel Messi and the hierarchy and wonder whether the disgruntled pair of Ivan Rakitić and Marc-André ter Stegen may force moves away from the club.
We also check in on the rest of Europe, as Bruno Labbadia brings his Big Sam Energy to Hertha Berlin and Florian Maurice takes up the sporting director job at Rennes. There’s also time to wonder what the longterm outlook for football fandom is, in light of the news that French Ultra groups are united in their protests against games behind closed doors.

| 0:00.0 | Hello and a very warm welcome to this week's episode of On the Continent. My name's Luke |
| 0:10.2 | Moore. My name's Andy Brassel. Andy, how are you today? You're keeping well. It's |
| 0:20.0 | another beautiful morning in South London. Yeah, I'm very well, thank you Luke, I was |
| 0:24.8 | worried I sounded a little bit timmy mallet in that intro, although not to not Mr Mallet |
| 0:29.4 | himself because not only is he a big football fan, he's a big Oxford United fan, isn't he? |
| 0:34.6 | But I think he's offered a lot from beyond his generation. My kids have gotten to Mallet's |
| 0:38.7 | Mallet recently. Have they really? I was about to say, where do you want it on me, Chin? |
| 0:42.9 | And the reference to his plaster from the game Mallet's Mallet and I thought no one's |
| 0:45.8 | going to get that. But if you all tell me a whole generation of young kids are now watching |
| 0:49.2 | it again, then I'm going to stick with it. Well, I don't know if it's a whole generation |
| 0:52.8 | of young kids. Certainly my children on YouTube when we discuss doing it with a cushion. |
| 0:58.6 | I wasn't sure whether to show them, you know, the version where he uses the mallet on their |
| 1:03.8 | heads or in the end it was commuted to use this little thing like a sort of scale where |
| 1:10.6 | he bashed the mallet off that because like kids presumably in South London where we are now |
| 1:15.4 | were going around bashing each other on the head with hammers. Are we certainly, we were |
| 1:19.4 | certainly doing that with our hands as kids hit me, hit each other over the head and apparently |
| 1:24.9 | that's not the done thing these days. All right, well listen, a mallet's mallet started on the |
| 1:29.7 | content which I didn't expect but that's the beauty of doing these shows. You never know where |
| 1:33.9 | it's going to go. A couple of pieces of housekeeping, a couple of pieces of admin before we get stuck |
| 1:39.2 | into the show proper. So I'm going to do those now. Over on our Patreon there have been no fewer than |
| 1:45.0 | seven count them seven pieces of Patreon exclusive content since the start of this month alone, |
| 1:51.4 | including the first part of our 21st century Premier League 11, a couple of mailbag episodes |
