But for On the Beat, this is the ceremonial perhaps last episode of the combined football basketball season.

So here we are to talk about the year that was, talk about Jeremiah's first year on the beat,

Evans' first year working with Inside Carolina.

UNC and the season that was both from a football and basketball perspective. Before we jump in to the recap of the past year, there has been a little bit of news this week.

So we wanted to get the reaction from some of our beat writers here.

Jeremiah, R.J. Davis has elected to return to North Carolina.

He's going to be playing a fifth season in Chapel Hill.

When you heard that news this week and just all

the reporting that you've done on RJ Davis over the season. What was your reaction to that news?

Yeah, well, certainly you have to give a big shout. So obviously, you know, Cheryl McMillan, who,

you know, for a long time was, you know,

piecing the, you know, I guess the pieces of the puzzle together and really kind of getting

everything, you know, laid out, man. So, you know, we were, you know, pretty much expecting it,

man, but, you know, from my perspective of having covered them this year, obviously going

into the year, you knew that the COVID year was a possibility for, you know, and this is, for those giving track at home, this year's senior class, as in the four years seniors this year, they're the last group that has that COVID year. So, you know, essentially, RJ Davis kind of getting that player option, you know, so to speak, to, you know, to RJ Davis kind of getting that, that player option, you know,

so to speak to, you know, to come back for the NBA fans.
