1:12.3	Bredo Shae and today we have on Rania Calik to talk about Syria.
1:16.1	Rania, for people that don't know who you are would you like to introduce yourself and say a little bit about yourself?
1:20.1	Sure, so I'm a journalist. I write for a bunch of different outlets. I also do some video work.
1:28.1	I've worked on based in the Middle East although right now I'm visiting Washington DC.
1:34.1	But I'm based in Beirut and I mostly focus on covering the situation in the Middle East,
1:40.1	particularly with respect to the wars in Syria and Iraq.
1:44.1	And how long have you been a journalist? How far back is that going in your history?
1:48.1	I've been a journalist for eight years now.
1:52.1	I wasn't always covering the Middle East. I used to focus a lot on domestic issues,
1:58.1	especially those related to criminal justice issues.
2:00.1	I used to do a lot of stuff around Israel Powell's Dine. I worked for the Electronic Intifada for a while.
2:06.1	And now I'm more focused on being on the ground.
