Rania, for people that don't know who you are would you like to introduce yourself and say a little bit about yourself?

Sure, so I'm a journalist. I write for a bunch of different outlets. I also do some video work.

I've worked on based in the Middle East although right now I'm visiting Washington DC.

But I'm based in Beirut and I mostly focus on covering the situation in the Middle East,

particularly with respect to the wars in Syria and Iraq.

And how long have you been a journalist? How far back is that going in your history?

I've been a journalist for eight years now.

I wasn't always covering the Middle East. I used to focus a lot on domestic issues,

especially those related to criminal justice issues.

I used to do a lot of stuff around Israel Powell's Dine. I worked for the Electronic Intifada for a while.

And now I'm more focused on being on the ground.
