Now, here is today's latest and greatest breakdownable news.

We have a lot to get to still with what's happening in Los Angeles and Donald Trump's

efforts to nationalize the federal government.

But I wanted to take a pause today because we have this concept that we discuss frequently

on my show, and it's called The Squirrel.

The Squirrel is when something really dramatic

happens that's designed to sort of take our attention away because squirrels are fleeting. They're

here, then they're gone, and they move really quickly, often much quicker than we with our basic

human eyes can keep up with. And so squirrels can be very distracting. You're walking along,

all of a sudden you see something flash through the peripheral of your vision, and it's a squirrel. Oftentimes, and we are experiencing or seeing news take place in really wild sort of ways, ways that feel like, that'll make no sense. Like, what is happening? I'm missing something. Oftentimes, at least when there's a Trump in office, we realize that this might be a squirrel.

Now, my friends, we're today on the Lurie Daniel Favor show are having a vibrant conversation

about what it means to be involved in these protests against ICE and how they are showing up

and ravaging communities. And that is a very vibrant conversation that we should have. We should

have discussions about what it means when Donald Trump decides that he wants to federalize the National Guard. That is a very important conversation to have,

and we must have that discussion. However, France, that discussion is also a bit of a squirrel,

because whenever something major, dramatic, or attention grabbing is happening in this administration,
