And today is a little treat.

Why?

Because we want to celebrate the passing of a legend, Sir John Polkinghorn.

He recently passed away, and his work has so shaped the life of the church, the religion

science dialogue that I was talking with Tom Ward, and we recently, well, a year or half ago, did a class where we read together

a number of different open and relational theologians. And John Polkinghorn was one of them.

And so we decided that we'd like to share our conversation about John Polkinghorn, his work,

engaging with it, kind of opening up the ideas, wrestling with them,

looking at ways each of us would use some of what he's doing, push back to it.

But what you'll really hear are two people who deeply value his work and are hoping to encourage those who haven't engaged his work before to check him out.

And those that have can remember just how influential he's been.
