In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

My Lord and my God, I firmly believe that you are here, that you see me, that you hear me.

I adore you with profound reverence.

I beg your pardon for my sins and the grace to make this time of prayer fruitful.

My Immaculate Mother, St. Joseph, my Father and Lord,

my guardian angel, intercede for me. Today we celebrate a very special day, in the United States at least least and perhaps in many other countries as well,

which is Father's Day. All over society, today kids will honor their father.

And even those who have passed away, they will be honored by their children who are still living,

because children have received everything from their parents. And today we celebrate especially fathers.

Look at what the book of Syrac says about honoring your father.

Listen to me your father, oh children, and act accordingly that you may be kept in safety,

for the Lord honored the father above the children, and he confirmed the right of the mother

over the sons.

Whoever honors his father atones for sins, and preserves himself from them.

When he prays, he is heard. Whoever honors his father will be gladdened by his own children, and when he prays he will be heard. Whoever

glorifies his father will have a long life. Honor your father by word and deed that a blessing from him may come upon you.

For a Father's blessing strengthens the houses of the children.

This is wisdom that has been transmitted to us to honor our father and our mother of course.

But to honor our father, he has been placed at the head of the household along our mother, to lead us back to God.

The children do not belong to the parents.

Children belong to God.

And yet, God has chosen the parents in order to give them an idea of what it means to be loved by God the Father.
