0:10.5	Guys, the big story this week was vaccines again.
0:13.7	Unfortunately, this time, large EU member states were having some difficulties with AstraZeneca.
0:19.6	Wolfgang, what happened?
0:22.7	Well, it's the U-turn, the big U-turn. They banned it and they're unbanded, but this is not
0:27.7	undoing it.
0:28.5	You know, most of the damage is done.
0:30.6	First, they questioned the effectiveness for the over 65-year-olds, then they questioned the side
0:35.8	effects.
0:36.2	Then they gave out this allegation that
0:38.9	this vaccine would cause cerebral blood clots. This was supported by data. One has to say,
0:44.3	this was not a completely gratuitous thing. There were data suggesting limited data, of course,
0:50.1	but suggesting it. But instead of alerting the EMA simply in saying, look, we have those data,
0:55.8	can you take a view? They unilaterally banned the vaccine before the EMA could form its views.
1:03.5	But it started in Germany, right? It started in Germany.
1:05.8	Health ministry, someone in the health ministry. And then it was interested.
1:10.0	Yeah, it wasn't someone in the health ministry.
1:11.5	It came from an institute, from a public health institute that issued the warning.
1:16.0	The health ministry being legalistic as it is, they always look at the, or can we get sued?
1:21.8	And then they issued the ban.
