First, let's settle in together with the sound of the bells. The Okay, so we'll start this session with a poem or a passage by Gerta and it's titled On Commitment.

Until one is committed there is always hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness.

There is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans.

The moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too.

All sorts of things occur to help that would never otherwise have occurred.

A whole stream of events issues from the decision.

Raising to once favour all manner of unforeseen accidents and meetings, and

material assistance which no person could have dreamed would come their way.

Whatever you can do or dream you can begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic

in it. Now this is one of those topics that is tough to teach because it's pointing to something

that at least Gerta would argue is true, the power of commitment, but commitment is hard to convince ourselves of.

A lot of times we have to go back and forth and waver and be confused and be

unsure and then there's a feeling of

readiness for commitment and we strike and then

things seem to fall in place.

And other times we can make that decision for,

you know, I'm in the wavering early on

and I'm just fully going to commit to this thing, to this path, to this job, this

relationship, this house, this lifestyle, whatever it might be.
