All right, before we get to some college football discussion with Denton, who joins us every Thursday to talk college football as the host of college football

overtime on serious XM and sometimes college football morning or whatever you call that before

what's it called tailgate we call a college football tailgate baby okay tailgate now um denton also is the

pregame and post game host uh after Washington Commanders football games on the

team 980 and he joins us right now at the Denton day so just you know we haven't talked a lot

with you on the show about the football team here much and Terry's injured now and we'll miss a fifth straight game. Just your overall

reaction to this because this was a rather hot topic, I would say over the spring and summer,

like the number one topic. We did have some drama over the summer coming off a season in

which they went to the NFC title

game for the first time in 33 years, 34 years. But what did you think of, and what are your

thoughts about Terry now on the verge of missing a fifth game? It sucks. You know, he played

really well against Kansas City. They threw him the football, which

is nice. And, you know, it's tough to look back at the way that the season has unfolded and

realize that it felt like there was a dark cloud when he decided to step away in May. I wanted

him to get paid. I think he was deserving of being paid. And I wanted a guy that was going to be here for, you know, potentially the entirety of his career, because if you think about it, for someone who's my age at, you know, 30 years old, the only guy that was really here for the entirety of his career, you got you guys like Carrigan, Santana, and Coley, and that's kind of it, right? Like, it's a very small list of guys that were high-level players that could achieve that. And I thought Terry was going to be the one. But it has felt like that the drama that kind of followed him. I don't know if it's his fault specifically, if it's Adam Peters' fault specifically for not being a little bit more harsh with, hey, you got to come to practice. like the holdout thing, we'll get the deal done, but you've got to be out there and practicing. It felt like he was kind of doomed from the start with him, and now you're getting these injuries. And what sucks is not only the injured again, Kevin, but his injury came on a play that was very nice. It was a diving catch. And the first time he got injured with that big play where he should have scored and he got robbed of a touchdown. So it feels like when he makes big plays, it's when the injuries come about. And that really sucks. Well, they gave him the touchdown. You're talking about the one at the end of the first half? No, I'm talking to the first injury. Remember when he, it was a deep pass? Oh, yeah, yeah, against the Raiders. When he got. Yeah, and it should have been in touch, too. Yeah, agreed. Agreed. I'll ask you the question we asked last week, and now there's another loss to add to it, an unexpected loss on Monday night. Do you think the season is salvageable? And by salvageable, I mean in contention until the final week of the season

to be in the postseason at the very least.
