And what we've learned now is Omicron can break through natural immunity.

It's become abundantly clear in a paper by polyam and colleagues from South Africa.

They've clearly described that Omicron can break through natural immunity.

Patients who've had the original wild type, alpha, beta, gamma, and delta.

There can be clear breakthrough infections with Omicron.

So this basically has now taken a whole new dimension in the pandemic.

It's no longer one in done.

It's the fact that someone can get COVID-19 a second time.

Now in their late breaking paper from con and colleagues from the Africa Research Institute,

they've demonstrated in a small number of people that an infection with Omicron develops immunity against future Omicron infection,

like a 14-fold boost in antibody-related immunity to Omicron.

But importantly, there's a 4x boost against the delta variant.

So there's actually back immunity to the delta variant.
