My names are not to Mariati. I'm a former federal prosecutor, a practicing lawyer

and a legal analyst and I'm joined by my friend Patty Vasquez

the host of the Patty Vasquez show who joins us regularly on this podcast and we

And I got to say, Patty, I really was hoping

that we wouldn't need to have another discussion like this

when I was kind of hoping this was going to be in our in our

rearview mirror.

And I don't think that's unreasonable to hope that because we have the tools, we have everything

necessary in order to slow the spread, we have vaccinations, we have masking and

social distancing. We have all the guidelines that the scientists, the

specialists, you know, people who know a lot more than we do about these things

have told us would mitigate this and it's just it's really frustrating.

I have one friend who's in the ICU who was vaccinated and I don't want to scare people because there are different levels of immune system and my friend is was immune compromised for most of his life and is not ventilated thankfully, but it's just terrifying.

And I just while we were setting up here, my producer told me that their daughter was also,

their son tested positive.

This is, this is going to hit everybody everybody I think this way feels much more intense than even the beginning of the pandemic.
