And the question is, are you pro snow or anti-freeze?

I suppose it depends where you are.

But someone who can give us a little picture of what's actually going on with this spectacularly wintry weather is BBC weather presenter Matt Taylor.

I'm just warming up, just about warm.

I know, I've had a hot stop.

Did the school run, the dog walk?

It's cold out there.

I've pulled out all the stops.

Heating on, thickest jumper, bubble hat, hot chocolate on the way into work. I mean, I can't really think

of anything else other than like sort of wrapping an electric blanket around myself.

I do confess, I'm in my own bedroom at the moment and I'm in three layers. So it is cold.

That's indoors. I mean, how is the country divided? Because where I am in North London,

there is no snow, it's just a bit cold. But when I was up in the

northwest over the weekend, you could see loads of snow in the hills. How does it sort of

break down? You know, there's snow in actually more places than you realise, and actually

quite a big geographical extent. It was across a good part of, particularly northern

eastern Scotland, down across northern England. And yesterday, actually, we saw even as far south as southern counties of England. So almost all the way to the English
