He breathes in sisters as we come now to the final lesson in the life of Omar bin Khatab

I want to emphasize that you could literally spend 50 or 60 weeks with Omar

the Allah and you would not finish. His Syirah is extensive in every way.

You could learn Takwa from Omar the Allah and his piety from Omar.

You could study Islamic history through Omar the Allah and because as we talked about last week

in that decade of his Khilafa, Islam spread to almost every majority Muslim country that we know today.

You could talk about his iman and his lessons in faith and truth seeking.

You could talk about any of the virtues that we covered in the second lecture of Omar the Allah,

you could also talk about legal precedence.

The thick of Omar the Allah and his understanding.

The entire idea of Makas the Shariah, the higher objectives of Islamic law based upon the decision making of Omar the Allah,

and all of it would not be enough to sufficiently cover this man or the Allah, the Allah, the Allah.

So what I want to do tonight in inshaAllah,

is I want to get to the circumstances surrounding his death.

But before that I want to speak about him from the perspective of his leadership and him seeing himself

and the ummah seeing him as the shepherd of this flock.

Truly, the Ra'id, the shepherd of this flock as the Prophet ﷺ said,

every one of you is a shepherd and every single one of you is responsible for their flock.

Ramadr al-Yallahu t-ta'ala an-hu was the shepherd of this ummah.

And he is rightfully called Amir al-Muminin, the first person in history to be called the commander of the believers.

And by the way, that was from the fiqh of Abu Bakr al-Yallahu t-ta'ala an-hu and it just fits him so perfectly.
