She is the director of the movie Everybody's Talking About This Week in Book Smart.

It's a coming of age film.

Two young women on their last night at high school realize they haven't partied enough and

that's about all you need to know.

They make up for lost time.

It's about female friendship and it is Olivia's first ever directing effort.

She's acted under a lot of great ones.

Martin Scorsese, Ron Howard, Spike Jones among them.

She says she spent her 15 year career effectively since her first big breakout role in 2004

on the OC then into house and then do a series of movies, studying all the directors on

all the projects and she realized she's ready now, ready to jump in.

She also talks about the impact she hopes it has already.

It's getting great reviews.

It's acclaimed.

She hopes that all of that will add up to more opportunities for women.

Four percent of studio films over the last decade were directed by women.

Four percent and she wants that number to grow and she's hoping she can help to lead that

charge.
