0:00.0 | Hi, guys. Welcome back to School for Energy. This is Ekta, and I have such a phenomenal guest for you guys today. I had a mission in mind when I started to get your energy that one day, I would have the honor of hosting her. So today is that day. So without further ado, I want to introduce you guys to Olivia Flermo, who is the creative genius behind her brand new line, |
0:30.0 | Olivia Flermo Beauty. So welcome to this show. Olivia, I'm so, so honored that you have the time for this. Thank you so much. It's such a pleasure to be here and thank you for taking the time and congratulations on your podcast and all of your success. Thank you so much. I would love to get started and and learn all about your career and your journey, because I know you have such an interesting background, and you know, you are such a renowned name and like fashion and everything that's to do with styles. I want to learn about everything that led to this. |
1:00.0 | Oh, well, I think that, you know, it was going into beauty in this chapter, this next chapter into the brand. It really made sense. It was something that I have wanted to do for quite some time and finding the right partner to make that happen. It's it started about the two and a half years ago. Actually, we kind of started the whole process and then the whole world shut down with Corona. So we kind of we pushed it and made sure that when we launched it was the right time. And not only in the world, but in the world. |
1:30.0 | But also for us as a brand and, you know, I approached this whole beauty line similar to I do within fashion is, you know, we have, you know, Predaporte. So we have prepared a beauty as well. And just, you know, the way that you approach it, you know, having key statement pieces in your wardrobe that you can invest into, which is so important. And, you know, as we build a small collection and we will build into having more products down the road. |
2:00.0 | But, you know, we want it. I really tried to take a look at the marketplace and see, you know, what was missing and what I noticed was craftsmanship and quality when you hold the package that luxury feeling. |
2:12.0 | And so we really took the time within the exterior packaging and also the product itself to make sure that, you know, it was equal hand and hand of the quality and luxury experience. |
2:25.0 | Right. No, and it shows. I mean, you know, when I first open, for example, you know, the lipsticks and the eyeshadow palettes, they're absolutely stunning. I mean, you really knocked it out of the park with the packaging. Obviously, but also, you know, as a woman of color, one thing that I really love is that the palettes that you put together are so like beautifully like the colors match so well. So doing an eye look is very, very, it's easy and it still looks amazing. |
2:50.0 | So I want to talk about that like how you chose the color combinations and you know, all of that process for you. |
2:56.0 | Oh, well, thank you. That's so nice to hear. I really appreciate that because, you know, color is something that's so important within, you know, getting dressed and also within makeup and, you know, the colors of how it's on me looks different on, you know, people like girls on my team. So we want to make sure that we find the right shades of all the pops of color. |
3:16.0 | The compliment, you know, for everyone for the most part as much as that we can. |
3:21.0 | And, you know, just like adding that pop of color, whether it is the purple or it's the blue, you can do it in, you know, a day vibe and you can also do it in, you know, an evening vibe. |
3:31.0 | It's just, it's about how you wear it. You can use it as an eyeliner. You could use it as like a full eye as well. |
3:37.0 | Yeah, no, and it shows like, I mean, I think the best part is like, you know, in today's world, like, you know, for me, like when I go to the hospital, like most of my eye looks are like neutral, you know, like I want to keep it very low key. |
3:48.0 | And you've provided that in your pallets and, you know, I, I think that kind of shows overall in your, in your line in general, you know, if we look at your fashion as well. |
3:57.0 | So, um, is that something that you've always like, that's your style always or is that has that evolved into like a more neutral based, because that's what I feel. |
4:07.0 | I think, I think definitely, you know, everyone always tends to go for a uniform of some sorts. |
4:14.0 | And I always love warmer colors, you know, browns, the purples, um, because you know, it really compliments, you know, my eye and you can. |
4:23.0 | Make it versatile where you can have more, but you can go deeper in the color range for the evening, then you can during the day, but it does go back to playing with the textures and, you know, as we get dressed, we play with different patterns and textures. |
4:37.0 | So the collection I wanted to reflect that as well, because, you know, we're always styling, we're styling, you know, our fashion, we're styling our makeup to some extent and, you know, how you wear it and playing with different textures of makeup is really important. |
4:52.0 | And it shows, you know, even in that softer warmer tones, it just, you know, they're, it really makes gives you an illuminating look. |
5:00.0 | Yeah, absolutely. And, you know, everyone listening, if you haven't already checked out Olivia Plumeros, booty line, you are missing out. So please go do that. |
5:10.0 | No, I want to actually, I want to talk more about you, because I know that you have such an amazing background. I know that you went, you know, you studied in Paris and stuff. Could you tell us like a fun story or a memory that you have when you were kind of learning everything and all that's good stuff. |
