| 0:00.0 | Hello, friends. Welcome inside, at least for me, not for Ole Miss Special Team's coordinator. |
| 0:05.6 | Jake Schoonover, it's the Riverland Roofing Studios. Riverland Roofing for all you need, |
| 0:10.0 | 662-6444297. Riverlandroofing.com. My friends, Billy Landis and them, man, they do more work than anybody |
| 0:16.5 | to support the rebels, man, so support them. Riverland roofing for all your roof roofing needs, 6662, 644-4-2-9-7. Online Riverlandroofing.com. It's Jake Schoonover, Old Miss Special Team's coordinator. You know, a hard man to pin down. He says, oh, yeah, Ben, I'll do your show. I'll do your nice little show. But then it takes a month for him to finally show up and be a boss. |
| 0:37.8 | But hey, you know what? |
| 0:38.4 | We ain't complaining. |
| 0:39.0 | We just saying thank you. |
| 0:39.8 | Hey, buddy. |
| 0:40.2 | How you doing? |
| 0:40.9 | I'm doing good, man. I appreciate you having me. I do apologize. It has been a little hectic. A little bit. Trying to win some recruiting battles, win some games and get to get ready for spring ball, all that kind of stuff too. |
| 0:51.5 | But now I do appreciate all you do, man, |
| 0:53.2 | and appreciate you having me on. |
| 0:54.3 | Well, dude, |
| 0:54.7 | thank you for coming on, |
| 0:55.7 | man. |
| 0:56.1 | You're the first Ole miss assistant that's actually stopped by the pod because you know it used to be a little different you know what man you used to be a little different in the previous regime peace a little bit more chill with it and now jakes shows up to show out and it's pro day so i want to first touch on that man like uh You were out there a little bit, right? You how yeah i got a peek out i didn't get to watch a whole lot but i got to peek out there um look like look like some guys had some good days you know it was a good crowd a lot of scouts it looked like pretty good showing yeah i mean like pro day man i don't know uh it used to be a little different than what it is now. Like, it's much more streamlined process and stuff like that. |
| 1:29.1 | But like from a player standpoint and coaches and trying to support them, dudes, like, what is what is pro day in the building, right? Like for those guys, like Xavier didn't work out today. He was in a boot, man. He's rolling around on a scooter. but like for all those dudes, how big of a day is it, man, for guys that go out there and perform and for you coaches, man, to see the work that they put in, especially guys like Diego, bro, like who came so far for his two years, man, he's getting his opportunity. He's got to be pretty cool at least. Yeah, no, I'm really proud of Diego. You know, Diego battled a lot, you know, to get here and then, and then in his time |
| 2:02.6 | here, he did a great job. Coach Garrison did a great job with him. He had a, I was, I watched him, you know, do some movement stuff. I wasn't sitting there with the scouts, coach is listening to him, talk about him, but he looked good. He looked like he's moving pretty well. He's really good shape. But no, you're right. It's just, it's different for every kid, obviously, you know, |
| 2:19.9 | the kids that get to go to the combine, you know, Pro Day has more of a specific purpose for them. They're trying to show one or two things that maybe they didn't do the combine, they didn't improve from the combine or whatever, you know, and then some guys, this is their, this is their shot. You know, this is their one shot. So it's just, it's different for every kid. But, but no, it's just, it's all, we always laugh. It's unique. You know, you give these kids all the nutrition advice for four years and, hey, here's what you need to do. Your body's getting ready to perform. Yeah, they show up for pro dance like, holy smokes, you look like a different kid in two months, you know, and they're shredded and they had meticulous diets for the last two months. It always cracks me up because it's like, hey, man, do that for four years and who knows what you would have done. Who knows what your film would look like? But no, they did it. The guys I here did really well. I know Copena just exploded and had a great day, which he was an explosive athlete, short area quickness. We knew that all along, did that bring him in. And we actually, you know, Copena is a great kid. I actually was recruiting for Copenna. I was at Arkansas State, and he's a saddleback before he wasn't in Washington State, you know, so I was happy for him to see that four-year process of him, you know, doing some good things today, and obviously there's a lot left to do the next few months, but you get excited for guys like that that really get to show, you know, if the measurables don't maybe don't match, but they get to show how explosive they are. |
| 3:57.4 | They get to show, you know, how fast they are and all those kind of things. And then the interviews are a big part of it, too, you know, those are kicking up right now. A lot of guys doing, you know, talking to scouts and just getting more in-depth looks. And, you know, all them are out there. So they all did a good job. He was a special group too, man. |
| 3:58.5 | I mean, it's not just Capena. |
| 3:59.3 | It's not just Diego. |
