Vinny, who you hear on our Monday and Thursday shows. A lot of teams who spend a lot of money

are being knocked out of the playoff. We're getting out of crunch time of the season. I spoke with people at Ole Miss who just spent more than $10 million on their roster and they may not make it. What does that mean moving forward? Are championship windows fake or real? Can you create your own? Or are you just in denial if you think so? And is there donor fatigue? Is this growing money going to stop at some point? I think that's fake. I don't think donor fatigue is real. Chris disagrees. We'll get into that in the show. But what we do agree on is NIL has improved the sport of college football as a whole. We're going to explain why. Give you a few reasons and answer a few questions in the mailbag. I thought that story you wrote last week about Ole Miss was really, really interesting.

And I think a top of mind for a lot of people, which is why I was happy to come on and talk about it.

NIL is still kind of like this new thing that we don't totally have a handle on. There's another lawsuit every other

week that keeps changing what the rules are. And you've got coaches who don't understand it,

coaches who are leaving the sport over it. And so it was kind of a good time to check in on that

because the idea of a window, the money being put out there, it's very funny seeing some of these

numbers out here. And you think about the scandals of the past. SMU, the death penalty. Eric Dickerson was getting like thousands of dollars and tens of thousands of dollars. And this was like the worst thing in the world than the program should have. And a gold transam. Let's not, let's not overlook the gold trans. Well That was from Texas A&M. That was not from SMU. And it's just the money, like players are getting so much more money now than they were in the past. And it really is just a driving force for a lot of things. And I think when Ole Miss lost to LSU to get to two losses, we were like, well, you know, was all that money a waste? And so you decided to talk to a lot of people there and figure out, is that the case? Yeah, for sure. It's interesting, you know, you remember the entire Cam Newton saga? Do you remember how much money was it, was it in question in that whole saga? I don't know off the top of my head.

It was like $100,000.

$80,000.

Yeah.

In 2024, if you got Cam Newton on your team for $80,000, buddy, you are an all-time

negotiator.

Because right now, if you're getting a functional starting quarterback and you're

paying him less than a million dollars, you are, you're getting a steal, basically. So it's an interesting world. So basically, you know, the initial part of the story is like, you know, we've been talking about it in the off season.
