I got a Friday funny for you.

I was in the medical center a couple of weeks ago

with a friend having surgery.

And we were in the pre-op room, and there's two beds in there,

the curtain in between, so you can hear everything. And there was. the having kind of a serious surgery and the nurse comes in to do his intake and she got a mask on and he's hard of hearing and she said do you identify as a male?

He said did I get any male? She said, no, do you identify as a male? He said, oh, I don't think I got that man. She said no do you identify as a male. Got kind of

aggressive with him and he I could just see the look on his face.

I couldn't see him, but I could see him thinking as he paused.

And he said, P.O. Box 413. And then goes on with the rest of his address. Luckily she didn't ask him again.

Is that crazy?

Like that really happened. I thought you were setting up for a joke. That really happened. No, that's a truth. It was one of the big university hospitals in the medical center.

You know, Karen, I will tell you, I went this week a few nights ago and I went to see my favorite college professor, his name is Lawrence Curry, and he's a liberal Democrat,

watches MS NBC all day long. He's 88 years old, and him and his wife Patricia and they live in an assisted living facility and they have a dining hall there and he's not in a position right now to go to leave the building to go out and eat so we ate there and the food was actually pretty darn good I was impressed.

And you know it was interesting because a lot of the people in there you could tell, everybody had hearing age, except for Professor Curry, he didn't have hearing age at 88, his hearing was great.

But it's interesting because the level of focus they have for two reasons, they didn't grow

up with cell phones, and and secondly they have to focus

because they have to read your lips. I have a lot of hearing losses so I don't like to be

around loud things because you damage your hearing. But I watch people talk

because I want to see their lips moving.
