Summary

Many people say God acted much differently in the Old Testament than he did in the New Testament. They say the God of the New Testament is merciful and compassionate, but in the Old Testament he is often harsh and unforgiving. A thorough look at Scripture reveals that this is not the case. God is in fact merciful and just throughout the Bible. Fr. Mike clears up a great deal of confusion between the Old and New Testaments, and shows how God has stayed quite the same since before the beginning of time until now.

This isn't the first time Fr. Mike's been asked about God changing, check out his original answer here.

this like just kind of poking fun so keep please take my sarcasm with a grain of salt.

0:50.9

I am poking fun but whenever anyone says the God of the Old Testament seems more kind

0:55.7

and gentle or opposite, harsh judgmental etc and then the God of the New Testament who

1:01.2

1:06.8

Bible because or at least they haven't paid attention to the Bible because it is absolutely

1:12.2

fundamentally obviously clear that in the Old Testament God reveals himself yes to be clearly

1:21.0

communicating to his people what right and wrong are and that there's a consequence

1:26.2

for choosing right and consequence for choosing wrong but he also reveals his heart to be

1:30.0

the heart of someone who loves the heart of a God who is long suffering, the heart of

1:35.3

a God who lets himself get beaten up by his people who turn away from him.

1:40.3

I mean not only are there so many Psalms about God's heart, there reveals his heart that
