Greg Lukianoff is a First Amendment lawyer, the president of fire, the foundation for individual rights and expression, and co-author of the coddling of the American mind and the canceling of the American mind.

So here we talk a lot about CBT and recognizing cognitive distortions and how he used that in his own personal life and it helped him to

realize how those same kinds of cognitive distortions are affecting institutions and culture.

And I think people will really enjoy this conversation because it isn't partisan.

He argues that both the left and the right have developed incentives to suppress speech

and the damage that has done to our democratic culture.

the uncompromising position that free speech is an essential right and a bulwark to a healthy

democracy.

So strong was their commitment that, at one point, the ACLU famously defended the right of Nazis

to demonstrate in Skokie, Illinois, a town home to hundreds of Holocaust survivors. They took

on this case despite the vile views of the group they defended, and the hatred sure to come
