So this is the story of how Anna and Denise were able to find each other in the midst of this incredibly overwhelming crisis, how Denise became an advocate and a

partner for Anna, and how they deal with the lingering psychological effects of Anna's

In the 80s and 90s, hysteria over satanic ritual abuse spread like a plague across the country. Daycare workers and

babysitters were accused of molesting children, forcing them to participate in pornographic

films, in the mutilation and sacrificing of animals, in the digging up and desecration of corpses.

From California to New Jersey to Texas, hundreds were accused, leading to 190 formal

prosecutions and 83 convictions.

And all this, without a scrap of physical evidence, not a single satanic robe or altar,

no blood, no weapons, no animal carcasses, no DNA.

To this day, no definitive evidence has been found for even one case of satanic ritual abuse. This moral panic was a backlash to secularism
