All I humbly ask for in this moment in my colleagues in Congress, the elected leaders and the advocates of New Jersey that I have worked with for years is to pause and allow for all the facts to be presented.

For 30 years, I have withdrawn thousands of dollars in cash from my personal savings account, which I have kept for emergencies and because of the history of my family facing confiscation in Cuba.

Now this may seem old-fashioned, but these were monies drawn from my personal savings account based on the income that I have lawfully derived over those 30 years.

Well, and again, he's the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and he has really improved our relations with Egypt, so how do you criticize a man?

And I don't have it in front of me, but he made another statement, didn't he, about there just coming after me because of my proud Hispanic heritage?

That was his first statement Friday, right after the news broke when he talked about the powers that be that can't stand to see a Latino in a position of power like this. Are you kidding me?

Yeah, yeah, that is so silly.

You know, when a man goes with a ridiculous defense, it's not because he has better defenses that he just doesn't want to go with.

Come on.

Well, so is his primary concern right now staying out of jail probably?

It's easier to try to fight it while you're still a US senator.

I don't know that for all I know that allows you, allows you access to money.

You wouldn't otherwise have access to or defense.
