Summary

The game of the year featuring two teams on a 70-win pace delivered. We break down how the Cavaliers leveraged the improvements of their players and Kenny Atkinson’s coaching to pick apart the OKC defense and made just enough adjustments on D themselves. Plus, how we feel about Cleveland as championship contenders after this one. The Bucks easily took care of San Antonio in a matchup that played to their strengths and masked their weaknesses. 42:05

All right, welcome on, everyone. One of the games of the year coming in, it was the 31 and 4 Cavaliers

0:07.5

versus the five loss, Thunder, both teams technically on pace for 70 wins coming in.

0:14.4

We'll get to Buck Spurs as well, but obviously not going to spend as much time on that one.

0:20.2

But just want to set the scene here a little bit.

0:23.1

Cleveland, not only had they won 10 straight coming in,

0:26.3

they'd won 10 straight by double digits.

0:29.1

It's incredible.

0:29.7

That is really, really hard to do.

0:32.5

And then OKC had technically won 15 straight that did not include, of course, the NBA Cup final, where they

1:14.3

And what I thought what stuck out, and I agree with you on the high quality of play,

1:19.0

the intensity was even though this was a very strong offensive game statistically to

1:24.7

129, 122, roughly a 100 possession game, was that I appreciated how each team knew going in, how hard it was going to be to get good shots.

1:34.9

And so some of this high scoring and this was good shot making. But the other part related to that was, okay, when we get an opportunity, we're going to have to do it, whether that is transition,

1:45.3

whether that is an offensive rebound, whether that is like you get a mismatch in a short

1:49.9

moment, because both of these teams are so good at recovering, both of these teams defend,

1:54.8

and both these teams move the ball really well. I thought that the execution and the mentality
