Good evening from New York. I'm Chris Hayes. Donald Trump's war on Iran is two months old

and under the war powers resolution passed in the 1970s. Today was a deadline

for him to end the war or he was forced to seek permission from Congress to continue it. Instead,

today in a letter to Congress, the White House said they don't need permission because the

temporary ceasefire means the war has been, quote, terminated, terminated. Except it's not just that the

war is terminated. You have to actually cease hostilities and bring the troops home. And it's not

terminated when we're actively blockading Iran and Iran's continuing to blockade a fifth of the

world supply. And it's also not terminated when you experience fueling up your car.

Trump's war is, of course, ongoing.
