I think really the plastic treaty represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to tackle

an issue that is driving climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution in every corner

of the planet, including in our bodies.

When we gathered in Paris, more than 170 countries, the stakes are really high.

I think, unfortunately, what we saw at the beginning of the negotiations was oil producing

countries really tried to stall negotiations, and we spent almost two and a half days dealing

with procedural issues before we got to the substance or the meat of the negotiations
