If you wake up this morning, it's one of those days when you just catch your breath, because there has been some dramatic market movements overnight and into the morning because of the

conflict in Iran.

Yeah, so oil prices are up 25% since futures opened in the US late last night.

Utterly insane.

So it's the 9th of March.

Obviously, this conflict broke out at the start of March.

Oil prices are now up 70% so far this month.

It's going to be the largest monthly move of all time and it's only the 9th of March.

Of all time as in all time, all time, all time. Last week was already the largest weekly rise ever.

We're up 35% last week. So today's move is on top of that. And year to date, we spoke last week about how old prices had already risen in January, February, the prospect of possible action.

Year to day, oil prices have basically doubled. We're now up 100%. And I just want to rewind you to that rule of thumb we talked about last week on the program with former Chancellor Jeremy Hunt. The Treasury's rule of thumb,
