Welcome back to Buckeye Talk is our post-game Buckeye Talk from a 38 to 3 Ohio State victory over Michigan State.

Stephen is not here tonight. I'm Nathan Baird, but I was not actually at the game either.

So Stephen was at a wedding. I was not actually at the game either.

So Stephen was at a wedding.

I was wiped out by something I came up, came down with last night,

went to bed Friday night, feeling fine,

woke up Saturday morning feeling anything but, and it's been a rough day.

So I covered this game from my couch, which is where I spent most of the day.

But Andrew Gillis, you were in the stadium tonight for Ohio State's 38 to 3 victory over

Michigan State and I guess we should just start right up front with

something that had been a conversation topic all week which is when is this team

going to have a really kind of dominant or assertive like you know make a

statement in the first half especially in a game like this a game where frankly you know you're favored by 30 some points you are expected to come in and blow somebody out and and you know sometimes that can be tricky there have been

some lines this year that maybe didn't fully respect where some of the opponents have

been especially from a defensive standpoint, but at the same time, this is what a team that wants to be a playoff team is maybe supposed to do at this point, is to come in and trounce Michigan State.

And I think that it, for watching it on TV it that vibe was definitely there in the first

half like this was a game where Ohio State separated like immediately and just ran away with it and I think that was

important. The disparity between what they've done in the first half and second

halves against Power Five teams this season was very stark and they needed to reverse that to kind of start a new trend over these next couple games

because you don't want to go into Michigan playing catch up in the second half.
