Akpara has committed to Tennessee. I hope that I'm pronouncing his last name correctly. I believe

that I am. He is Nigerian. He made his way over to the United States at 18 or I guess I should say in 2018 not at the age of

18 but in 2018 and was over in familiar neck of the woods and Chattanooga played at Hamilton Heights there for a couple of years of high school basketball and then transferred to link Academy for his senior year of high school basketball there in Branson, Missouri where he actually

played with current Tennessee freshman Cameron Carr, I guess now rising sophomore Cameron Carr.

And then he also played with Julian Phillips as well former Tennessee

Vol.

So he, this one was pretty quick obviously.

He's somebody who entered the transfer portal on Saturday morning.

If you're following us over on the checker board

at Govost 24-7, you knew right away

that this was going to be a priority target

for Tennessee and that this would made a lot of sense just because he fits what Tennessee needs and we can get into that here a little more extensively in a moment

But then also in terms of Tennessee fitting what he needs. I think that applies as well and there's a bunch of ties there. I just mentioned his Chattanooga roots of sorts and I believe I don't know the exact nature of the relationship, but I believe his guardians, who he was staying with in Chattanooga, are Tennessee alums, and they accompanied him on his visit.
