the video tape was released from the Grand Rapids Police Department showing the death of Patrick

Laioia, 26-year-old, at the hands of a police officer whose name is yet not known to the public.

And I think you're going to enjoy the program. I'm going to come after this, but Karen and I thought

it would be important to talk to you, the community, and amongst ourselves, because we don't need

anymore fire and glass and death. So you saw that, Karen. The police officer pulled the young

man over. The plates didn't fit the car. The young man gets out of the car. He does not listen

to the order from the police officer to get back in the car. The officer asks him if he speaks

in English. He says he does. And then he runs off. The officer chases him, tackles him.

They fight wrestle for about a minute and a half, struggling with the officer's taser. The officer

tells him at least three times to let go of the taser. He does not. The officer shoots him

in the back of the head. And is this in your opinion justified? Is this execution because it's

the whole rainbow again in this country? And you know, Charlie, sadly, the only thing that ever

changes about these situations are the names and the dates. We continue to see situations that

emerge like this for married reasons and contributing factors with the unfortunate outcome of

there being someone, a civilian, a resident, a black man that has died at the hands of a police

officer. But there's also so many human elements to the situation that emotion may prevent us

from looking at. I think there were at least two opportunities to change the outcome of this

unjustifiable situation. And I'm not looking at this from a legal situation. But I'm
