Summary

As we reach the end of Black History Month in the UK, Zoe & Georgia are joined by Ogo & Claire to reflect.

As well as being married with two (soon-to-be three!) children, Ogo & Claire have founded Akwa Baby. Together, the four discuss representation, school curriculums, microaggressions, and so much more.

One of the sponsors on this week's episode is Kumon, the UK and Ireland's largest supplementary education provider and we are delighted to be working with them again.

0:09.3

We are regular listeners to the podcast, we have heard us speak about Kumon before and there's actually a free trial from the first of October to the 15th of November where families new to Kumon can try out maths and English study programmes for seven days with no obligation to sign up.

0:25.2

Yet, this is incredible. Kumon is for children of all ages and abilities, whether your child would benefit from being academically stretched and challenged more than school curriculum allows, then Kumon is for you.

0:36.4

Also, if your child needs to build up the foundations necessary to improve their confidence and ability in maths or English and their grades, Kumon is probably for you as well.

0:45.8

Exactly, Kumon is really one to help them build the self-confidence and mindset they need to succeed. Plus, with Kumon Connect, children can now study and complete work sheet digitally on their tablet.

0:57.8

This means they're even more accessible and convenient. Plus, it makes feedback easier to you.

1:02.8

Yeah, that sounds like the Georgia seal of approval to me. Visit Kumon.co.uk forwardstashtrial or Kumon.i.e forwardstashtrial to book your seven day free trial today.

Hello and welcome to Made by Mum is the podcast. I'm Zoe and I'm Georgia.

And we're here talking all things parenthood. You know, the real conversations, tips and tricks, products we love and brands we can't live without.

1:27.8

Let's get into it. Hello! That was very upbeat from Monday morning, how are you?

1:34.8

We're actually really good. Well, for us here in England, it's half-term. But obviously, you know, all the keynotes in Scotland, I think the kids are going back to school Tuesday.

1:45.8

We're just at the start. We're just at the start of it. Obviously, the private schools have had an extra week off. But I'm feeling from Monday morning, start half-term. I'm actually feeling quite sprightly. How are you?

1:53.8

Yeah, I'm good. I'm good. I had like, if you saw my stories over the weekend, I basically spent 12 hours in the loft on Saturday.

2:01.8

And that is no like exaggeration. It was 12 hours because we got up 730 so that we could get a few hours in before James went to football.

2:10.8

Right. And then I think it was 730 that night. James's parents turned up and I said, I've been up there for 12 hours.

2:19.8

Like, I didn't come down. I cleared the whole loft out. Most of it by myself because James left it like 11.

2:25.8

And oh my god. I'm not, I can't walk today because I spent 12 hours lunched over, squatting.

2:35.8

Yeah. I mean, so much pain. But anyway, it was good like Sunday. We had we had we had we had we had we had we had we had actually had quite a laugh. James like took on an alter ego of like a sort of a white band.

2:48.8

Yeah. Come on. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And we were we were having a laugh and we were like, where can we pull up? Where can we like we pull it off outside and get out and yeah, we we we had we did have fun.

2:59.8

Oh, this sounds good. So team captain was on good call. No, no, we aren't good when the kids.

3:07.8

But we have to love anyway, we actually got everything into the storage unit like nice and quick came home, went out for dinner.

3:17.8

It was yeah, that really night. Well, not a nice weekend, but we made elements of it. Well, they said about detox. Who is that lady on Netflix?
