Summary

In November of 2017 OFH did a series on the birth of Rock 'n Roll. Back then Sebastian was so terrified about getting sued that he did not include any of the music discussed in the episode. He has since been assured that "fair use" provisions in copyright law make it completely cool to use clips for the purposes of education and criticism! Seb has stopped being a baby and has finally added the music to the shows! Now is your chance to hear these episodes the way they always should have been heard--- with the music! Enjoy! include some novel research.

0:48.0

But this is the one that I had the most fun researching personally.

0:53.3

I talk about this a lot in the show, but I'm a bit of a music geek.

0:58.6

The history of rock and roll is something I really care about.

1:02.9

And I think you hear it in my voice in these episodes.

1:06.7

The research for these shows also took me into some unexpected places, and I uncovered

1:12.1

songs and artists that were unknown even to me, someone who'd been looking at the history

1:17.8

of rock for most of my life.

1:20.8

So I think there are things in this series that will surprise even dedicated students

1:25.6

of the history of rock and roll.

1:28.8

But despite my love of this series, I was always disappointed in myself for not including

1:35.0

clips of the music I was referencing.

1:38.6

At the time I was really worried I was going to get sued.

1:42.7

Instead I directed listeners to a playlist on YouTube that they could listen along with,
