Hello and welcome to this throwback edition of our fake history.

Right now we are between series,

so I am taking the opportunity to release

an old episode that will hopefully lead us in to the next series.

Today I am throwing you all the way back to episode one.

That's the episode called,

was Queen Elizabeth actually a man. Now interestingly this almost wasn't the first

episode of our fake history. Before I launched the podcast I recorded a bunch of demo episodes and I was showing them to friends and family to get a sense if I was on to something.

Originally I had the idea that the first episode would be me explaining what the premise of our fake history was going to be.

Now I've since released that show to the patrons, I've called it The Lost episode of Our Fake History.

But when I was showing those episodes to some friends, one of my friends made a really good point.

He was like, Sebastian, I don't need to hear your thesis statement for half an hour about why the show needs to exist.

Just do the show. Launch the show with one of your better stories, and then just put the thesis statement up front as like a snappy two-sentence tagline.

He was absolutely right. In fact looking back I think that was

one of the best pieces of constructive feedback I was given in the early days.

After that I came up with the introduction where I introduced the show as the

podcast where we explore historical myths and try to determine what's fact, what's

fiction, and what is such a good story that it simply must be told.

I chose to release this Queen Elizabeth episode first because I thought it was a

really good proof of concept for the show lays out everything

I'm trying to do.

Here's a wild story, here's a little bit of historical detective work, here's a little twist that maybe you didn't see coming.
