Summary

In part two of this OFH Special Presentation Sebastian pulls a little something out from behind the Patreon paywall. What was once a massive extra episode on the history and weird mythology of the Knights Templar is now being presented as a two part series for the wider OFH audience. Founded in the aftermath of the first crusade, this order of warrior monks would eventually become one of the most wealthy and influential organizations in the medieval world. However, the Templars' sudden fall from grace in early 14th century would create a mystery that future generations couldn't help but try and solve. How was it that a group of medieval knights became the topic of so much modern conspiracy writing? Tune in and find out how mislabeled buildings, demon rings, and idolized bearded heads all play a role in the story. Now, I know what you're thinking. Hey, Sebastian, you call that a cold open?

I mean, is an hour fake history the show with the long rambling windups to the topic?

What gives? Well, those of you who read the title of today's episode before you press play

know that this is part two of a little something I'm calling an hour fake history special

presentation. Those of you who have been keeping up with the show know that the arrival of my second

While I'm off, you folks have been getting to hear a show that was originally created for my

2:13.1

Patreon subscribers a few years ago. That extra episode called What Should We Believe About

2:20.4

the Night's Templar was originally quite a bit longer than a typical episode of our fake history.

2:27.3

In fact, a lot of the stuff I end up making for my patrons ends up being a bit more meaty than

2:33.5

what you get on the regular feed. So when I decided to go on a little break, I thought that I would

2:39.8

present that Patreon episode for all of you here, but instead of one part, I would break it into two.
