Welcome to the Crazy Love Podcast. There's a tendency that many of us face when reading

scripture to skip over those passages that may be difficult

to understand or offensive to our modern day culture.

In this week's teaching Francis Chan focuses on Ephesians chapter 2 and shows us how worshiping God for all of his attributes makes the good

news even better.

What's in even better. Well, tonight I was going to teach Ephesians chapter 2 verses 1 through 7 and then I began to study it and I thought, wow, that's a lot of stuff.

And when I looked at those first three verses,

I realized, wow, these verses are very offensive.

The people in the world would hate these verses. And I think some of you in this room might hate some of these

verses and so it would be very easy to kind of skim over that and get to verse four, you know, which many of us would call the good news.

But the more I study it, the more I realize, no no this is all good news everything in scripture is

good news and the way God describes himself sometimes we in our 21st century American Bay Area culture would look at some passages and they

would bother us and we don't like them as much and we may even be embarrassed of them and yet in our

efforts to not be offensive to people, we can be very offensive to God.

To dare look at an attribute of His

and say, I'm not going to talk about that one.

I would like to hide that from my friends

because I want them to believe in you.

Or this will offend a lot of you.

I have preached on this before.

I was just thinking about that during worship.
