The NFL is looking at changing the Rooney Rule for the 2020

season, maybe 2021, it's going to be something they're going to be talking

story of the day. The NFL is looking at creating incentives to have owners hire minority candidates.

Right now it is looking like it is possible that they're going to be discussing giving teams better draft picks if they hire

a minority coach or a minority general manager.

It looks like right now they're talking about jumping 10 spots in the third round if before they if they still have the the head coach that they hired or the general manager that they hired, they would jump 10 spots in the third round

for hiring that specific person. This is going to be a big deal. This could possibly be a big deal for several different teams.

Right now the NFL is faced with a situation where they just simply don't have teams hiring minority candidates.

They've tried over and over again to get teams to hire minority candidates

and it just doesn't seem to be working.

Right now, the re-rule just requires that you interview one minority candidates, whether it is for the head

coaching position or for a general manager position.

That is something that has not really worked out very well for the NFL.

There are I believe two general managers in the NFL right now that are minority candidates and

there is two or three coaches right now.

You know obviously Mike Tomlin's one of them. The Los Angeles

Chargers have another one in Anthony Lynn, but the bigger question is you start looking

to how that this is going to play out. You have different coordinators that look like they are in a
