0:16.4	and questions that still echo nearly three decades.
0:22.0	I'm Sheila Wysaki, here with Dennis Ferrier and Jeff Lucas,
0:26.9	and joining us is our guest, legendary Detective Pat Post-Deglione.

0:43.8	And talk about a case that gripped a city in a way that a lot of the cases don't, and I'll tell you why, because a lot of parents had kids working fast
0:49.7	food and actually made them quit at the time or would not let them apply for summer work.
0:55.7	And in the middle of this case and all this fever was Nashville's legendary cold case unit
1:01.7	murder detective Pat Pistiglione who joins us now and helped bring Paul Dennis Reed to justice.
1:09.5	And this was a monster. This was the guy under the bed.
1:13.0	He was the boogeyman.
1:14.3	Oh yeah, absolutely.
1:15.5	Yeah, I mean like you said, back in 1997, I mean the city was really in grip of fear or whatever
1:23.4	and you know after Captain D's happened and a lot of people don't realize there was another homicide that happened in January.
1:31.7	Charles Thoitt was killed and pulled into this very day.
1:35.5	He's a very strong suspect in that case.
1:37.1	And if I had to put any money on it, I would say, yeah, absolutely he did that one.
1:41.3	But then we had the Captain D's case, where the two victims were killed inside
1:46.5	of Captain D's, and then of course we had the McDonald's, and then we had up in Baskin-Robbins,
1:51.9	up in Clarksville. And I distinctly recall, and I've told the story a couple of times, I
1:57.8	distinctly recall shaving, getting ready to go to work when I heard about the Baskin-Robbins case. I heard it on the TV, and I'm shaving, getting ready for work, and I said, what? And I walked over and looked at the TV. And I remember thinking, this is going to be connected. And I remember I got Detective Mike Rowland, and we rolled up there, and they hadn't found the victims up there yet. And we're up there maybe an hour or so, and then they found him at Dunbar Cave. They found both victims. And then when you look at the crime scene up there, you could tell that one of the victims took off and ran, and the other victim was literally killed right where she stood. And he, in my opinion, is he killed her because he had to go chase the other one,
