Hi, everybody. Welcome to another off-season episode. And today, we'll be taking on a new show,

a show that just premiered. Some have called it the heir apparent to sister wives.

I don't necessarily think so. TLC is going to hang on to sister wives still forever.

But it is Polly Family. It just premiered on TLC on Tuesday. And my guest today, for another

pod, I think it's been a minute since you've been here, but it's Brian. Hi, Brian. How are you? Hey, I'm great. I'm great. How are you? I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. Was this show on your radar before I was like, are you watching this?

Honestly, no. So I always put TLC shows in like two categories. You've got like the shows where everything is a mess and everything is falling apart and like the world is collapsing.

And then you have the shows where it's just like, look at this super happy family of 98 people that all are joyful and great.

And like a lot of those go from one to the other.

Like welcome to Plathville started in one direction and then pivoted. Sister Wives started off with everything is great and then pivoted. So I saw this and I'm like, I don't know. Is this going to be like another, the little couple where I'm just like, they're just happy and like raising a family? I don't want to watch that. And then I started and I'm like, oh, no, no, this is, they're, they're in the mess already. We're getting, we're jumping off the, the cliff from, you know, word one. Yeah. I, I'm surprised he said, you know, TLC has a category where it's a happy family in my mind. If it's on TLC, the inevitable is going to happen. And if it wasn't on deck, the fact that is on TLC, it will happen. They'll push you there because, like, doubling down with the Dorikos is one of them. They, you know, what's the other one? Little people, Big World. I used to watch that back in a minute. I'm like, oh, they're just happy. And then look what happened. John and Kate plus eight. Like, it'll ruin you eventually. Yeah, a little bit of big world. I think the darkest to me is Plathville. It's dark. That went dark. And then the new season, because in between Olivia is talking now about domestic abuse. So we haven't even seen that. We don't even know if they've, you know, film that. And that went from zero to a thousand real quick when the mom decided and we're like, oh, you were jealous of Olivia this whole time. That she had the freedom to do everything. But I think we're deviating. This is what reality TV does. ADA, she's a hell of a drug. What can I say? It show is. Okay, before we get into it, let me take care of some housekeeping with you guys. I look back at that one, the D.C. season and the Philly season as the ones where I'm like, you want to watch some real horrible situations go on that are still fun. Like, those are the ones to go to. Yes. And then add Houston to that, I think. Houston, too, yeah, because Michaela tried to flip over a foosball table.
