A year ago at this time, we were reacting to the aftermath of the decision from Judge

Suelle Robinson to suspend Dishon Watson, six games from multiple violations of the NFL's

personal conduct policy, the NFL appealed that decision to itself and increased the suspension

from six games to 11.

The NFL wanted much longer than that, at least one year, minimum of one year, and then after

the year, we'll figure out whether or not and when he'll be allowed to come back to

the NFL.

The problem miles plain and simple was in the personal conduct policy.

It had not been written in a way to allow the NFL to have the flexibility that it needed

to deal with a Dishon Watson situation, Watson unprecedented, unanticipated.

The idea that someone would be involved in a scenario with more than 20 allegations

of sexual misconduct during massage therapy sessions, evidence of planning, evidence of

coercion, not physical force being utilized in a sexual assault.

There were issues with the drafting of the personal conduct policy and the biggest problem

is this miles.

There is a list of behavior that will trigger a baseline suspension of six games.

For sexual assault, it was sexual assault involving physical force.

The big defense was, there's no evidence of physical force.

You can't do a six line, a six game, excuse me, baseline suspension for the four individuals

that the NFL relied upon when they went to the hearing.
