According to Sean Sorani of the Athletic, James Harden told NBA investigators

that he was referring to Dara Mori telling him to opt into his $35.6 million deal,

which would make it easier for him to be traded.

That's what he was referring to when he called him a liar,

not the much more egregious infraction of,

take less money and then I'll take care of you next summer.
